Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acid supplements are often used in the treatment of various conditions, such as inflammatory skin diseases, osteoarthritis, cardiac disease, gastrointestinal diseases, cancer and kidney failure. However, excessive use of omega-3 fatty acids can also have adverse effects, such as gastrointestinal upset or impaired wound healing and slowed blood clotting.
